Has anyone had experience repairing vintage watches? 🙏 While organizing the drawers of a mother-of-pearl chest, I found a watch that appears to be a memento from my grandfather. I had a very strange feeling when I first discovered it. I took it to my parents' house and showed it to my dad, and he just stared at it silently for a long time… (It made me a little sad..) So, I brought it back because I wanted to try fixing it myself, but since I don't know much about watches, I haven't been able to bring myself to touch it. If anyone has repaired one before or knows of a good repair shop, please give me some advice!!! 🥹 I have always felt a deep sense of gratitude toward my grandparents, but at the same time, I felt a sense of guilt. That they passed away when I was so young, so I don't even remember their voices properly. Perhaps that is why this house and these objects feel like a link connecting me to them. So, I thought it would be nice to record this process, and I am sharing it here.
