For our living room as well, we minimized the use of color and matched the tones to white and ivory. The space definitely looks much wider, and the atmosphere really comes alive softly when the sunlight comes in. I chose a sofa that allows me to lean back comfortably rather than one that feels too rigid, so the time I spend at home has become much more relaxed. By matching the tones of the rug, table, and objects to add subtle accents without being excessive, the overall look feels organized. In particular, the natural light coming through the curtains feels like it creates almost the entire atmosphere of the living room, so these days, I find this time to be my favorite, even without turning on the lights. What I realized while decorating our newlywed home is that while beauty is important, a space where you can spend time comfortably is more satisfying for the long term.
