I transformed the dull, dark brown door into one that makes you want to keep opening it. Since I only had the flooring and system air conditioning installed when I moved in due to time and financial constraints, the dark interior materials bothered me. However, I filled my mood with anticipation rather than disappointment, telling myself that a house I renovate myself would look wonderful. 💛 I had resolved to gradually add color to the dull doors, so I started with my room door. I had to remove the door to work since I also needed to paint the frame, but wow, this is the heaviest door I've ever encountered. I tried to paint after attaching protective plastic sheeting to the wall, but I couldn't move it by myself, so I eventually called a family member. I was only able to move it after agreeing to their warning that I would be in trouble for messing around when I'm so weak. 😂 Since there are doors on both sides, I had to paint one side first, let it dry, and then go through the exact same process on the other. That made me realize what true hardship is. For the inner door, which I started first, I applied a super-strong primer twice at 3-hour intervals and let it dry for a full day. After that, I applied two coats of paint, but the color wasn't perfect, so I finished it with a total of three coats. For the opposite side of the door, I applied three coats of primer followed by two coats, which resulted in a better color. However, to achieve a more perfect color, I applied one more coat, bringing the total to three. The result was a truly gorgeous color. 👏👏 Since I was working on other paintings in between this process, whenever I felt tired, I told myself, "I am a machine; a machine that works after work." Haha. After carefully choosing a deep yellow color, changing the handle to red, and adding a door sign, the door has finally transformed into a piece that makes you feel good just by looking at it! 🎩 It took me over a week to come home after work, protect the surfaces, paint, dry, and paint again. But seeing the finished result, I experienced that arduous process turning into a desire to "do it again." Haha Changing something with your own hands gives a sense of satisfaction that only those who have experienced it truly understand. If you start with something small, you will have a pretty wonderful experience. 🙌 *I recommend applying it with a brush first to corners or narrow areas, then using a roller for larger surfaces!
