For a while, my greatest joy was the time I spent with a book open, nibbling on whatever I could find. 📚🍰 But at some point, that scene vanished completely. The bed instead of the sofa. The phone instead of the book. "I'm tired, so let's just lie down today..." As these words piled up, I reached a point where I thought, "At this rate, I'll gain weight... and my brain will just freeze up, won't it?" 🚨 (Emergency!) So I declared again: Reading resumes. Actually, my vision board lists reading one book a month. I do stick to it... by binge-reading at the end of the month. 🤫📖 (The reading method of a deadline-driven person) February and March were months where I worked without even a moment to eat lunch. And in the midst of that, I became a snack thief. 🍪 I found the castella cake that was left over! What comes to mind when you think of castella? Milk!! But plain milk is boring, isn't it? So I made milk tea ☕✨ It's actually really easy, easier than you think. I put lots of tea leaves and a good amount of sugar into the milk, and let it mature in the refrigerator for a day. Since I didn't use brown sugar, the color is almost the same as milk, so you might wonder, "What is this?" But when you take a sip, a subtle jasmine scent spreads out. 🌿 A scent that isn't visible but has a definite presence. Like another world hidden behind an ordinary door. I sat on the sofa with that cup in hand, and two hours flew by in a flash. Enough to not notice even if a rabbit shook the clock 🐇⏰ A bite of castella, a sip of milk tea, a page of a book. This combination feels like a small afternoon tea party. My own Wonderland tea time. 🌹🫖 I think reading starts not with grand resolutions, but with preparing a snack. Not just reading, but feeling like I'm playing with the book. I might end up binge-reading at the end of the month again... But just being back on the sofa makes me quite satisfied.
