Midlife Sickness - Things I Need Now That I’ve Become Middle-Aged A scarf that became an essential after I started loving myself. If, three years ago at construction sites, it was merely to hide the heat, dust, and exhaustion, now, it has become a choice to protect myself. During a trip to Busan filled with a different kind of excitement than when I used to travel to sites all over the country, for skincare that I started alongside my diet, and because it is also a necessary part of my job, a scarf has become my essential item anytime, anywhere. Another essential: glasses! The fact that I have to wear glasses due to presbyopia and astigmatism. (Previously, I only wore glasses when my astigmatism was severe. ^^:) And the fact that I now need sunglasses because tears flow down my face without me realizing it whenever strong UV rays hit and the wind blows. I simply changed the lenses on the frames I’ve had for 20 years. Wearing glasses indoors, and sunglasses outdoors. I chose this as a way to protect myself and prioritize convenience over hassle. The other item is not a necessity, but my friends—like energy drinks—whom I formed a bond with 35 years ago. They have been with me through puberty and menopause, providing comfort I couldn't get from my family, helping me connect with the self (past and present) I couldn't find within them, and sharing the strength to live through today. They are my friends. Thanks to things I didn't fully understand before becoming necessary and precious to me as I entered middle age, even when the wind and rain blow, or when a cold wind blows in my heart, I no longer foolishly endure it. ^^: Trying to love myself (trying to look into myself) is for the sake of living better. ^^ Suffering from middle age sickness... .. #SufferingFromMiddleAgeSickness #GrowthJourneyInMy50s #BusanTrip #Sunglasses #Glasses #Scarf #Friend #TodaysMe #CornSoupRecord #BusyestAtHome #AntCity
