This is my favorite household item that I've been using consistently for years: the color transfer prevention sheets! I initially started using them because separating my child's clothes by color was a hassle, but now I feel anxious before running the washing machine without these sheets. 😂 These color transfer prevention sheets absorb the dye that washes out into the water during washing, so they help reduce concerns about color bleeding even when washing light and dark clothes together. When I have a lot of dark clothes, I group similar colors together, but when there are just one or two mixed in, I just put in the sheets and wash them all together!
