As I grew to like the atmosphere of 'Wabi-Sabi,' I wanted to try creating a home that is okay even if it isn't perfect. To be honest, it's hard to say it's finished yet. The heavy black sofa is still there, and the overall feel isn't exactly unified. However, these days, the air conditioner cover made of linen curtains is making the space much softer, and the way they sway slightly in the breeze is adding to the atmosphere of the house, gradually changing it. Things like the light spreading under the paper lamp or the sense of empty space felt in a small bouquet of flowers are also contributing to this. In particular, I no longer intentionally tidy up the wrinkles of the blanket that look like they were just left there, or the texture of the sofa that shows signs of wear. I found that naturalness felt even more comfortable. The black sofa still has a strong presence, but it actually seems to press down on the space, allowing the surrounding softer elements to come alive even more. It isn't a perfectly decorated home, but I am convinced that this very process is heading in the direction I like. A home where it is okay to be a little slow, and okay to be a little less filled. And today, our home is practicing Wabi-Sabi just like that.
