This is a review based on my personal experience using and styling the product, which was provided through the #오감리뷰 program. The Haru-ui Gonggan cutting board Brown, Blue, and Butter Parisien set I used this time was so satisfying, from its design to its actual use, that it has naturally become my main cutting board. There were some aspects of the cutting boards I used previously that left something to be desired. Wooden cutting boards have a nice aesthetic, but they were subtly inconvenient to use due to their weight and thickness. Index cutting boards were comfortable because they were light and thin, but I was disappointed by the rough texture when cutting. This silicone cutting board feels like it has successfully addressed those two drawbacks. I was most satisfied with how it maintains the thin and lightweight feel while making cutting much smoother and more stable. I really loved the colors as well. The Brown, Blue, and Butter colors are all toned-down, aesthetic shades that blend naturally with my wood-toned kitchen. I also liked that they look like interior decor pieces just by standing them up. The most convenient aspect of using it was its flexibility. After slicing ingredients, I could slightly bend the cutting board to transfer them directly to a bowl or pot. It was incredibly convenient to be able to organize everything in one go without spilling ingredients. My workflow in cooking also became much more streamlined. I was also satisfied with the basic functions of the cutting board. Since the material leaves almost no knife marks, I felt reassured about hygiene, and as it is an antibacterial board, I was less worried about bacterial growth or mold. The width and size were just right, making it highly versatile for everything from simple ingredient preparation to cooking. Maintenance is also relatively easy. It is easy to keep hygienic as it can be sterilized in boiling water, and the replacement cycle is long—about two years—so I felt it was efficient to be able to use it for a long time without any burden. Since the butter color is light, it can cause slight staining when using kimchi or colored ingredients. However, after washing with baking soda, rinsing with hot water, and drying, most of the staining was completely removed. So, I use the brown color separately for kimchi or ingredients with strong colors. It is a product with well-executed details. The grooves on the edges prevent liquid from dripping when preparing ingredients, and the non-slip bottom provides a sense of stability during use. However, it may slide on wet surfaces, so I recommend wiping it dry before use.
