I worked on transforming a small room in my parents' house, filled with furniture over 20 years old, into a #study space! I replaced the old wallpaper myself, discarded the old furniture, and brought in new ones. Since the room was filled with a huge number of (unread?) books, organizing them properly was the hardest part. I placed the books I'm likely to reach for often 😂 on the main bookshelf and covered them with a #curtain so they wouldn't be visible. As for the ones I've read or didn't even know I had, I tucked them inside a #storagebench and made them disappear :) Thanks to that, it looks like a very neat study from the outside! The pretty wall lamp added a bit more of a vintage vibe, but the wall still feels a bit bare, so I'm thinking of sticking posters all over it. I need a wooden shelf, too... and I think it would blend well if I brought in some plants (of course, I know I’ll kill them, so I’ll just go with pretty artificial ones that stay nice all year round 🫶🏻). An unfinished space... I wonder when I’ll be able to finish decorating it 🥲 I’m realizing once again that decorating a home requires plenty of energy and time...
