For the first time in a while, I had the sugar-preserved tomatoes I used to eat often when I was a child. I used to eat them a lot, especially in the summer, and they were delicious. It also reminded me of the red bean shaved ice sold at bakeries, another summer snack I used to enjoy a lot. Back then, we used to pile plenty of red beans, sticky rice cakes, and fruit cocktail onto cold ice, and it was so refreshing to eat.
