It was already a finished product with just the two-tone painting! But I decided to make my dream a reality by adding stripe accents! What I focused on most during this project was, of course, the clarity of the boundary lines. So, I incorporated a valuable tip shared by Benjamin Moore into this project, and the result is extremely satisfying! The secret lies in the ‘water-based silicone caulking’ process. First, apply masking tape, then spread a very thin layer of silicone over the boundary surface. This effectively blocks any gaps where paint could seep in. Benjamin Moore masking tape has excellent adhesive properties and doesn't cause significant paint bleeding, but using this method in conjunction with it—especially for projects like two-tone painting where the boundary lines need to be clean and sharp—allows for a much higher level of finish. ✅ Key Points 1️⃣ Apply the masking tape and press it down firmly with a spatula or similar tool. 2️⃣ Apply water-based silicone to the masking tape boundary where you intend to paint. 3️⃣ Gently rub the silicone with your hands to spread it thinly, then wait until it dries. 4️⃣ Paint over the silicone, and remove the tape before the paint dries. I think this method will be a real lifesaver, especially for those painting on heavily embossed wallpaper or rough walls. It completely prevents the frustration of seeing smudged lines after relying solely on the tape. Look at the color of my storage room! The stripe pattern is so pretty, isn't it?
