#콘수프기록집 #인테리어노하우 Sharing Information🪄 It has been over 6 months since I installed a ceiling fan while living here. Now that summer is approaching in earnest, it is one of the installations I am truly satisfied with! I am not a professional, but I hope this can be of at least some help, so I will share the things you need to check during installation🤍 1️⃣ Choosing a Ceiling Fan Ceiling fan prices vary widely, ranging from tens of thousands of won to over a million won. I purchased the 'Sov' A1 52-inch model, which is famous for its value for money, directly from overseas for around 40,000 won (AliExpress). I was worried about noise since it is a budget model, but I don't really notice any noise, and I am satisfied because 52 inches is just right for a 32-pyeong living room. The installer also said that, in his opinion, it is not much different from products in the 300,000 won range. ❣️ If you do not like direct overseas purchasing, models starting from the Sov A2 are available for purchase in the 150,000 won range through official domestic import. (Refer to product tag) 2️⃣ Lighting & Wallpapering Plan Usually, installing a living room ceiling fan requires removing the existing central light fixture, which has the disadvantage of eliminating the main light in the living room. Also, since there is no wallpaper in the area where the light was removed and the brackets of the existing light are visible, the ceiling needs to be re-wallpapered. For small areas, you might use DIY wallpapering or covers that conceal only the parts, but since my house has a large recessed ceiling and three existing lights, I couldn't cover the removed area, so I proceeded with wallpapering the entire recessed ceiling. I installed downlights to fill in the gaps in lighting. I initially considered about 8, but I was told that 12 were necessary to ensure sufficient illumination, so I went with 12, and I think it works perfectly. I set them up so that they can be turned on in groups of 4 and 8. (Refer to Video 3) These days, 2-inch lights look nice, but I installed 3-inch ones to maintain consistency with the existing apartment lighting. If the distance between the downlights and the ceiling fan is too short, light flickering or shadowing may occur when the fan is operating, so be sure to check the distance before installation! I installed the ceiling wallpaper using the tight-fitting silk wallpaper method. The downside of tight-fitting wallpapering is that the "joint marks" are visible. Since installing with a floating finish increases both the cost and time, I just went with tight-fitting wallpapering. Although they are a bit noticeable in photos, the joint marks are not very visible in person, so it is fine. However, if you add recessed ceiling indirect lighting, the joint marks often become very visible when the lights are turned on, so I recommend the "floating finish" method. 3️⃣ Finding a Contractor I found several local companies through an online search and requested work and quotes. One company stated that they could not install the Sov ceiling fan I had purchased separately. Since they said they would only install it if I purchased the ceiling fan along with the lights, I requested a quote on Soomgo and proceeded with the company that provided the quote. I am not sure of the exact reason, but since there are sometimes places that refuse installation in homes equipped with 'electronic switches,' it is advisable to make precise inquiries regarding whether the ceiling fan needs to be purchased separately, the presence of an electronic switch, whether installation is possible in a occupied home, costs per number of downlights, and whether protection and ceiling reinforcement are required. 4️⃣ Installation Process and Costs We received the ceiling fan via courier in advance and kept it in storage. On the scheduled installation day, the owner and one technician—a total of two people—came to handle protection, removal of existing lighting, ceiling reinforcement, drilling, and wire routing. Two additional wallpaper installers arrived midway to finish the wallpapering, and then completed the ceiling fan installation and lighting connections. They also provided protection and moved the sofa without any extra cost. The entire process took about 4 hours, and they performed a clean test run. We were advised to refrain from ventilating or operating the ceiling fan for about two days to allow the wallpaper to dry. I heard that some Sov ceiling fans make a clicking sound when running if installed incorrectly, but they even checked for that issue. ✔️ I paid a total of 680,000 won for wallpapering, lighting, ceiling reinforcement, and ceiling fan installation! (Excluding the ceiling fan price of a little over 40,000 won) I think it is reasonable, considering that hiring someone to do the wallpapering separately would easily cost over 300,000 won. I moved in without being able to do a full interior renovation, but I did as many small repairs as possible while living here, and I am really satisfied with the ceiling fan and downlights. I'm currently debating whether to install them in every room. It's just simple information, but I hope it was helpful.🤍
