I introduced a method to add color as a way to elevate the aesthetic of a plain wood interior. I recommend warm tones that are not cold, especially colors derived from nature—also known as earth colors. If you tone down the overall tone and use brown, green, brick, or camel—which have slightly higher saturation—as accent colors, I think the wood interior becomes much richer and gives off a sophisticated feel.
