Food Storage Tips from a Housewife of 20 Years (Including Living Alone) 🍒 I've tried all sorts of things, including airtight containers and stainless steel ones, but 👍 I've now settled on vacuum-sealed containers. ▪️ Green Onions: Store unwashed, just brush off the dirt, and stand upright in a vacuum container. (I no longer freeze green onions.) ▪️ Onions 🧅: Peel them, wrap them in a paper towel with the root end facing down, and store in a vacuum container. ▪️ Cabbage: Cut into bite-sized pieces, lightly wash, remove moisture (using a vegetable spinner), cover with a paper towel, and store in a vacuum container.
