I visited Bukchon in May. There was a Today's House Special Creator Class there. I experienced this class under the theme, "<What I Eat Is Me>." Along with a philosophy lecture by Natural Cooking instructor Moon Sung-hee, we also held a mini-workshop to awaken our senses. We focused on the sensations in our mouths while slowly savoring feldspar, feldspar cookies, zongzi, and zongzi caramel. I wrote down the salty, sour, sweet, and umami tastes on a sensory logbook, but... Why can't I taste the sourness? I guess I've gotten used to the sweetness 🫣 I also tried making vegetable sushi with the ingredients provided. I can't believe it has such a deep flavor even without a lot of seasoning or a complicated cooking process! My stomach felt comfortable after eating. I am someone who prefers familiar things over new ones, but I really love that whenever I attend a Today's House class, I learn new sensations and perspectives.
