A view of the expanded living room. I've placed just a large table in the expanded space to enjoy the view. It seems there are clear pros and cons to expanding. The advantages are: a sense of openness that prevents a cramped feeling and gives a spacious impression; and an unobstructed view that allows you to admire the scenery outside right from the living room. The disadvantages are that it gets extremely cold in the winter; and that you need to pay close attention to the flooring. Since additional flooring work was done during the expansion, the floor in the expanded area is uneven and bumpy. If you decide to expand, make sure to pay close attention to floor insulation and leveling! Still, I like the expanded living room better haha. I like the spacious feeling.
