If you want to do some desk decorating but don't know where to start? I've listed the easiest methods I've tried, in order. ① First, make everything ‘white’ Unify everything—monitor stand, objects, and even the desk mat—in bright tones! Since I can't easily change my desk, I covered it with Daiso adhesive film. (*My desk in the photo is originally solid wood.) ② Lay down a light-toned desk mat The seams where the adhesive film was glued together bothered me, so I covered them with a large desk mat. The mat I used is from Obiki, and it is quite large. The black mat I used before made the desk look strangely cramped, but switching to a bright tone makes it look much cleaner and wider. ③ Keep only one or two objects The more items you have on your desk, the more your gaze gets scattered. If you are a desk decorating starter who wants to take pretty photos, keep fewer items that serve as focal points. Since decorating my desk maximally is difficult for me, for a beautiful desk that I used as my standard, what I kept out of sight was more important than what I put there. ④ Silver Items Except for White Items I arranged most essential items, such as tumblers and chargers, in silver. It can get boring if everything is just white, but silver sets the mood slightly. ⑤ Adding a Point with the Monitor Screen The monitor screen actually determines the atmosphere more than you might think. I often keep a playlist playing on YouTube; Since it's getting hotter these days, I tried blue, but personally, green feels the most stable. 🌿 ⸻ It seems like a beautiful desk setup is closer to using fewer colors than buying a lot of expensive things. For those of you who have found desk decorating difficult, 📎 Save this and try following along step by step.
