I Beautifully Concealed the Ugly White Walls 👀 When I first saw the graduate student office, the most disappointing thing was the wide, plain white walls. We lacked the budget for renovations, and since it was a temporary space, it was difficult to spend a large amount of money. So, the method I chose was *'beautifully concealing'*. 🤎 1. Distracting the Eye with Posters and Magazines I utilized Bauhaus posters and magazine racks on the empty walls. By installing acrylic magazine racks instead of frames, I was able to create a much more stylish atmosphere at a low cost. 2. Filling the Wall with Bookshelves I covered one wall with open bookshelves. By arranging design books, architecture magazines, lighting, and objects together, I decorated it to become a focal point of the space rather than just a simple storage unit. 3. A Method More Effective Than Renovation Although the walls weren't completely covered, the addition of elements that draw the eye significantly reduced the bleak atmosphere. With just posters, bookshelves, and lighting, a lab atmosphere that makes students want to linger was created. If you want to change your space, I recommend starting by shifting your gaze rather than covering things up.
