1 Night 2 Days #오늘의우리집, “Mugok”, Muju, Jeonbuk They say time passes faster with age, and indeed, it is already the last month of the first half of 2026. We took a break and wrote a comma at Mugok Pension in Muju, a place our family truly loves. Muju is a place of healing throughout all four seasons, with its Deogyusan Mountain, valleys, and fireflies, but our 1 night and 2 days at Mugok were even more profound. As you climb the stairs of Soyose, which stands tall in the mountains with a design made of red iron and bamboo bark that remains unchanged even as time passes, the firmly closed door opens, leading you into tranquility. When you open the door to Witmal 4, where we stayed, you are greeted by a white mobile swaying gently at the edge of the dark view, and a long hallway splitting into two, exuding a sense of weight that leaves you speechless. The black table visible beyond the iron door of the dining room, which is divided into four frames serving as both a wall and a partition, was simply stunning! The two queen-size beds, spacious enough for a family of four to lie down and rest comfortably, were as cozy and comfortable as those in a 5-star hotel. The interior materials used for the sky-view jacuzzi behind the rounded wall, and for the shower and bathroom separated on either side, were so harmonious and charming that it made me dream of building my own home just like this. Just by opening the window in front of the bed, you are immediately greeted by a spacious and deep swimming pool and jacuzzi, along with an outdoor table and fire pit...! With meditation music playing and incense lit, sitting quietly in bed and watching the lush green forest filling the floor-to-ceiling windows and the children playing happily beyond, I felt like I was getting a taste of heaven in advance. From the Finnish sauna at Shanshan, to the small camping trip for four families at the fire pit, to the tea ceremony enjoyed at Soyose the next morning, and even the breakfast and tea time—not a single moment of our two-day, one-night stay at Mugok passed by without making the most of it. It has been so long since I have had such complete rest.
