Although the dark gray color of the original kitchen was pretty, it felt a bit cold and stuffy overall. So, without making major structural changes, I applied adhesive film to the upper and lower cabinets, pantry, and island countertop, and added lighting to transform it into a Mid-Century mood that I love. In particular, I changed the lower part of the island to open shelves to allow for both storage and display, and added mood lighting, an audio system, and decorative items to create a home café-like atmosphere ☕️🤍 ✔️ Use indirect lighting rather than main lights ✔️ Unify the color scheme with white, wood, and silver tones ✔️ Make the island a 'showcase space' rather than a storage space ✔️ Leave empty space rather than filling it with items The construction was simpler than I expected, but the atmosphere of the space has changed dramatically.
