Try recording a video too ˚‧ 𓆸 - I think the time I look forward to the most while working as a Special Creator for Today's House is probably the Special Class. Since I can personally experience things I’ve always wanted to learn but couldn't easily try, a pleasant lingering feeling remains long after the class ends. This Special Class, <Special Custom Scent Lab>, was a custom perfumery class where we expressed my home through scent. I had really high expectations even before it started, as it was a time to express my tastes and the atmosphere of my space through the sense of fragrance. The studio, located in an alley in Yeonhui-dong, was an even more beautiful space where warm sunlight streamed in through the windows, the white interior, and the flower styling blended together. Thanks to the tastefully decorated details throughout, it was a place where I naturally wanted to keep taking photos. It was a time to discover my own taste by sampling 42 different fragrance ingredients one by one, accompanied by a lecture by perfumer Kim Jin-ah from KAIKA STUDIO. I selected five scents that resonated with me and completed a signature room spray that reminds me of my home. I also tried recording a video. The top notes start fresh with the citrusy scent of bergamot, while the base notes of musk and tonka bean create a sweet yet subtly lingering afterglow. Adding the soft, feminine mood of lily of the valley and lilac to this made it feel as though the atmosphere of my favorite space was perfectly captured in a single fragrance. Pour the finished scent into the lid, label, and bottle I had selected in advance, it felt even more special, as if the space called ‘Milky Home’ had truly been expressed through scent. But that wasn't the end of it. The session continued with a time to capture the invisible scent in images through professional photography and self-documentation. To think that an invisible sensation could be recorded in such a special way, I wondered how the Today's House hosts could have even thought of moments like this. The time concluded with a group photo shared with everyone who had shared memories of the day, accompanied by fantastic catering that elicited spontaneous admiration. I was able to rediscover my own taste, and I think this will likely remain my favorite class among all the classes I have attended so far. ✉️ It was an even more delightful time thanks to the warm welcome from the familiar guests I meet on special days, as well as the new people I've connected with.
