That was only until we didn't realize we had to replace everything—from the mattress covers and pads to the duvets—from the summer cooling duvets and winter cotton duvets to the spring and autumn transitional comforters. Goodbye to the custom-made pad-integrated covers that fit the mattress height perfectly 👋🏻 I thought we could at least sleep with the queen-size duvets on our respective beds, but the thick comforters dragged along the floor if the balance was even slightly off. In the end, I just gave them all away and replaced them with SS super-single size duvets. While I was at it, I also replaced all the mattress covers with SS size ones! Even though the summer cooling comforter is Queen size, it doesn't drag on the floor under the bed, so I purchased another one—my favorite among the cooling comforters I own—to complete my summer bedroom decor. My pick is the Decoview Ice Triple-Woven Duralon Cooling Summer Comforter/Pad Queen. It’s cool, has a cute ribbon pattern, and is reversible, so I liked it the most. The color is totally my style too.🩵 I plan to get through the summer like this, and when autumn comes soon, I intend to move the bed—currently positioned on the sides with a shelf in the center—to the center. Why? That way, I can use my expensive goose down bedding without having to give it away. Perhaps it was foresight, but even though my bed is Queen size, I had chosen Queen size for all my expensive comforters. So, here comes my interior decorating know-how! When preparing bedding for your newlywed home, unless you plan to use a completely separate bedroom, set up the largest possible K-size bedding. That way, even if you upgrade your bed size later—from Q to K, or from Q to S or SS—you will be able to keep using your expensive duvets. I’ve been married for 18 years now, and having lived with it, I’ve found that K-size beds don't last very long. (I experienced the sagging issue with Sealy beds firsthand.) If possible, I strongly recommend choosing a combination of two S or SS beds from the start. I have no basis for this, but(?)
