Mexican Cycad, an interior plant with a beautiful shape. It looks like a large four-leaf clover, and the leaves, resembling butterflies fluttering in the breeze, are truly pretty. It grows tall and slender, with leaves only at the tips, making it even more beautiful! Since the Mexican Cycad is a plant that loves light, it is good to place it in front of a window to give it plenty of sunshine normally, and bring it over briefly to feature in photos for social media. Since it is a bulbous plant, neglecting it is its best remedy! If you water it too frequently, the bulbs can rot. It is more resistant to dryness than overwatering! When you lift the pot and think, "Huh? It feels a bit light?", carefully poke the soil deep with a fish cake skewer without damaging the bulb. If no soil sticks to the skewer, or if soil does stick to it and feels dry, then water it thoroughly until water comes out of the drainage holes. (If the soil that comes out is moist, wait to water!) Plant nurseries usually tell you to water when the surface soil dries out, or once or twice a week, but the best way to check plant watering is to poke it with a fish cake skewer! Since it is a slow-growing plant, it is hard to see new leaves come up even a few times a year, but once they do, they stay green for a really long time, which is admirable.
