Whenever I was asked, “What is your favorite scent?”, I found it strangely difficult to answer. I’m sure I have a scent I like, but when I actually try to explain it in words, it feels a bit blurry, if that makes sense. 😅 However, strangely enough, scents become clearer when you actually smell them and choose one, rather than when you try to describe them in words. Last weekend, I attended the second offline class for Today’s House Special Creators. The theme of this class was ‘Scent.’ Starting with a lecture by perfumer Kim Jin-ah, we smelled over 40 different scents one by one, personally selected the ones that seemed to suit my space, and blended them into my own unique fragrance. Usually, I spend most of my days filming at home or staying in the office, but stepping out of my daily routine for a moment like this to smell scents, choose my preferences, and visualize my space felt like a much deeper rest than I had expected. In particular, the experience of ‘designing a space with the sense of smell’ was truly special. I realized that a space is made up not just of the visible interior, but also of the air felt when you open the door and step inside, the atmosphere that makes you want to linger, and the sensations that put you at ease. While waiting for my turn to shoot, I enjoyed the thoughtfully prepared catering and took the time to chat with the other creators who participated. As I comfortably chatted with people who share similar tastes and document their homes and daily lives, I realized once again, "Ah, I really love these kinds of moments." It was a truly healing day that softened my heart for the first time in a long while. ☺️🌿 I was also touched by the gifts you packed for me in both hands. From a plaster air freshener modeled after the Today's House trophy to a candle symbolizing the 'Gate of Opportunity,' Each item exuded the unique sensibility and taste characteristic of Today's House, and my heart warmed the moment I received them. 🩵🫶 A day spent creating wonderful scents, sharing conversations with wonderful people, and looking at my favorite tastes and spaces with a little more affection. I sincerely thank O'House and Kaika Studio for preparing such a thoughtful time. 🤍 @ohouse_creator @kaika_studio #O'House {0 #SpecialCreator} {1 #O'HouseCreator} {2 #SpecialClass}
