When it comes to decorating a child's room, organization turned out to be the answer. More important than decorating beautifully was creating a "space that is easy to maintain." In our home, we arranged bookshelves and storage cabinets so that the children could take out books and organize them themselves. We keep only as many books as are visible, organize toys by type, and tuck the rest neatly into drawers.
