💙 Reinterpreting the Utility Room 💙 In our house, there is only one place that could truly be called a utility room: the veranda in the master bedroom. As is the case in most apartments, a washing machine and dryer are placed in this space. However, our utility room has a special touch added to it. We installed the flooring using the same material as the main living area, ensuring there is no difference in level, allowing us to utilize it as an indoor space that connects seamlessly with the kitchen. Now, let me share four ways to utilize our utility room. (1) Laundry Room: Arrangement of washing machine, dryer, and clothes drying rack (2) Pantry: Low cabinets built along the window to maximize natural light, used to store infrequently used kitchen tools and ingredients. (3) Trash Management Area: Recycling box and large general waste bin (Small trash cans are placed throughout the house, and items are moved to the veranda for storage when full.) (4) Auxiliary Kitchen: To prevent children from being injured by hot steam, sliding shelves that can be pulled out only when needed have been installed in the cabinet, and an electric rice cooker is placed there.
