Since airborne dust comes down directly from above, if you don't clean it regularly, the fan gets covered in black dust. Because it is mounted high on the ceiling, the disadvantage of having to climb up with a chair to clean it is unavoidable. I initially wanted a ceiling fan because it was pretty, but now it has become an essential item I can't live without. Although I didn't actually see a significant effect on the electricity bill savings I initially hoped for, it definitely doubles the coolness, and running it while ventilating helps with air circulation, so it has become an indispensable household item for me.
