This is a chest of drawers that I personally participated in every step of the process, from design to production. I visited the site to help with the manufacturing, checked the dyeing samples, and even performed a final check right before the finishing touches. I received it with excitement, but it turned out to be a bit darker and yellower than the bright oak tone I had imagined, and the wood grain was just... (speechless). I debated for days whether or not to get it repaired, but I kept thinking about the owner and the carpenter who worked so hard during the production process... and the more I looked at it, the more I grew attached to it. Now, I’m using it happily with the mindset of, "If I get tired of it, I can just apply veneer myself!" Still, the "simple design" that I considered most important during the initial planning was properly realized, so I am truly satisfied with the overall shape. I also ensured practicality by configuring the open space as a display zone for Mom and the interior drawers as storage space for the children. I even removed the handle holes I had originally planned to make the final design as minimal as possible. Instead, I installed a gap between the top and the drawers so that children's fingers wouldn't get caught, while still allowing them to open and close comfortably! ✩ Pros Clean, minimalist design Solves both display and storage needs Safe design considering finger pinching High satisfaction from designing it myself ✩ Cons Color tone is darker and yellower than expected Wood grain on the drawers (I really should have checked this more carefully ㅠㅠ) → I plan to improve this sometime! In the end, it’s not perfect, but I think it has become a chest of drawers that I grow more attached to over time. But you know... making furniture is addictive...?
