As the weather starts to get hotter, there is one more task to do in the kitchen. It’s not a fancy dish, but simply preparing watermelon 🤭🍉 Cool watermelon is a must on hot days, after all. Watermelons are really delicious these days, so I diligently buy them and store them after removing as many seeds as possible so they are ready to eat. My husband only eats watermelon that I cut for him. Recently, my in-laws cut us some watermelon, and my husband said, “☹️ I won’t eat it because there are seeds!” My mother-in-law replied, “🫨 Huh? Of course watermelons have seeds! What are you talking about?” which made me feel both flustered and amused 🤣 Even before I got married, it was natural for me to prepare and eat it this way, but I guess I’ve spoiled my husband a bit... 🤣 Watermelon seeds are actually easier to remove than you might think if you use the tip of a knife. And I always store the prepared watermelon on a stainless steel tray with a wire mesh on top. I tried storing it in various ways, but I found that when the watermelon juice drips down through the wire mesh, the watermelon stays less mushy and is stored a bit more neatly.
