• Precautions for Ceiling Fan Installation 1. Always have a professional install it. When I first started looking into installing a ceiling fan, I watched many installation videos on YouTube. However, no matter how much I watched, it seemed impossible for me to do it alone, so I purchased it through Today's House and got a quote for the installation through Soomgo. Even though a professional came to install it, they had a hard time because the ceiling heights were uneven. At that time, I saw a video suggesting that if the ceiling wasn't sturdy, you could reinforce it with wood and install it yourself easily. I showed it to the installer, but he jumped up in surprise. He said that if you try to install it yourself based on that kind of video, something serious could happen. He explained that while it might be okay for things like fluorescent lights, ceiling fans rotate continuously while vibrating, so if it isn't installed properly, it could fall. He insisted that you must entrust the installation to a professional. So, I thought it was a really good thing that I didn't try to install it myself. 2. Choose the size carefully. The first thing to consider is that if there are lights or other obstacles around the installation space that it might bump into, you must choose the blade size taking those into account. The second thing to consider is the square footage of the space. I installed mine in the master bedroom. Even though the master bedroom is the largest space in our house, I chose and purchased a small size, and the fan blades didn't feel that small. 3. Choose the type of ceiling fan that suits your situation. The ceiling fan in my house is a model that also has a built-in fluorescent light. Some homes already have indirect lighting installed, so a model with a built-in fluorescent light isn't necessary. However, for older apartments like mine that lack indirect lighting, you have no choice but to install the ceiling fan where the fluorescent light used to be, making it essential to choose a model with integrated lighting. As you can see from the before and after photos, a single ceiling fan makes the mood of the space much more beautiful.
