Rosemond David Hockney | Bigger Splash I started this DIY painting project of David Hockney's 'A Bigger Splash.' At first, I wondered if I could actually finish it, but now that it's complete and hanging on the wall, I am truly satisfied. At first, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the complex details of the splash. However, as I picked up the brush and filled in the colors one by one, I became increasingly immersed in Hockney's signature restrained yet intense color palette. It was a truly healing experience, especially when painting the bright pink wall and when I broke the stillness of the pool by dabbing white splashes at the end. I really enjoyed the process of not just painting, but dissecting the structure of the artwork piece by piece and personally experiencing, "Ah, this is the color scheme Hockney used." I spent time working on it little by little after work for several days, and sometimes cramming it in on the weekends, but seeing the finished result makes all the hard work completely forgotten. Perhaps because I painted it myself, it feels much more special and endearing than a store-bought frame. I am extremely satisfied because the kitchen atmosphere feels much brighter and more refreshing! I highly recommend this to anyone struggling with interior design choices or those who want to forget their complicated thoughts and focus on something. I'm already wondering what project I should try next!
