1. Here are the before and after photos. This is the youngest child's room at my parents' house, a place I wondered if anyone could actually live in. (To be honest, I'm a little embarrassed to post this 🥹) If you compare the before and after photos, the atmosphere has changed dramatically. 2. Why I Decided to Do the Wallpapering Myself My parents live in a quiet countryside. It is located so close to the mountains that it takes more than 10 minutes by car just to go to a supermarket. About 7 years ago, the wallpaper for the youngest child's room was installed for free through government support. Perhaps because it was low-cost laminated wallpaper, it started turning yellow in less than 3 years, and after 7 years, the entire room looked really worn out. Since my elderly parents found it difficult to handle the work themselves, the youngest child was using that old, worn-out room. 3. The Reason for the Installation My youngest child is currently in high school, but since they lived hugging dolls from a young age, they gave their sensitive high schooler skin a terrible acne breakout. Since he was absolutely terrible at listening to his parents, I, as his older sister, used his allowance as an excuse to wash and vacuum-pack all his dolls and send them all to the storage room. That is when wallpaper caught my eye; I felt that if he slept here, it would only be a matter of time before his skin turned into wallpaper.😭 I purchased the wallpaper from "Wallpaper in Paste." While watching videos and reviews of other brands of pre-pasted wallpaper, I noticed that there was post-processing required to smooth out the folded parts of the bedding. In the case of "Wallpaper in Paste," a plastic sheet with a grid pattern was placed over the glued side, so it arrived rolled up.🫶 Even a novice wallpaperer was able to wallpaper easily while minimizing waste. After finishing the wallpapering, I had to persuade my father, who wanted to put the furniture back in its original place, to throw away the unnecessary furniture. Inside, there was a completely useless bookshelf and a green plastic wardrobe (completely empty) behind the clothes rack. After leaving the room empty for three days and using a dehumidifier and ventilation to get rid of all the grass smell, a room that is 'at least' youthful was completed! I was really upset because my parents don't know how to throw things away 🥲, but I plan to replace the items during the next visit. The transformation of a shabby room—this was the first project of a beginner wallpaperer. 4. Wrapping Up. DIY wallpapering that even a beginner could fully handle.
