I think the biggest secret to making the living room look spacious is the 'matching of tones.' I softly matched the tones of the art wall and flooring in beige and gray shades. Since the tones of these two elements, which occupy a large area, are connected, the visual flow isn't interrupted, creating a much more expansive feeling. I also matched this with a warm wood-toned ceiling fan to add a cozy accent to the ceiling, which could otherwise have looked plain.
