Many of you are probably wondering if you can install a ceiling fan in the living room you currently live in, rather than moving into a new building, right? Based on my installation experience, I am sharing a checklist for a fail-free ceiling fan installation. 1️⃣ Presence of Indirect Lighting & Ensuring Living Room Brightness If you remove the existing living room light and install a ceiling fan, even if the fan itself has built-in lighting, that alone is insufficient to illuminate the entire living room. - Fortunately, in my case, indirect lighting was installed, so I was able to maintain brightness without it being too dark, and the installation process was much easier. - If the living room light is dim, you must plan for additional lighting work, such as indirect lighting or downlights, to compensate for the downside of it becoming too dark. 2️⃣ Verify that the technician is a specialist in light removal and ceiling fan installation! Installing a ceiling fan is not simply a matter of installing an appliance; it involves removing existing living room lighting, reinforcing the ceiling, and redoing the electrical wiring. For safety reasons, I highly recommend having this work done by a veteran technician who specializes in both "lighting removal" and "ceiling fan installation." 3️⃣ "Wallpapering" for a Clean Finish Once the living room light is removed, the raw ceiling and holes that were previously hidden are fully exposed. Since installing only the ceiling fan cannot completely cover these traces, ceiling wallpapering was necessary. In particular, because wallpapering is done after the ceiling fan is installed, you must entrust the job to someone with extensive experience to ensure a clean finish. I was referred by the place where I had my ceiling fan installed, and they finished the job neatly. (The photos of the wallpapering process might look a bit messy, but they cleaned it up neatly afterward.) I am very satisfied with the ceiling fan; it not only enhances the interior but also helps with air circulation when used in conjunction with the air conditioner.
