The living room makeover I had been putting off for so long. I realized that things only get moving when something new arrives. I set aside a day to visit a few vintage furniture stores and brought home some new pieces, but once I actually saw them, I wasn't entirely satisfied. So, I decided to take this opportunity to make a big change. I put my beloved white wood aside for a moment and painted the pieces one by one. I removed a shelving unit that had been sitting there for two years and filled the empty wall with a table and chairs. I decided to strip away a little bit rather than cram it all in. Looking at the space reflecting my new taste, I keep finding areas I want to work on. The sofa, the bed—everything has now become a subject for rearrangement. Of course, the happiness that comes from novelty doesn't last long, but that joy becomes the driving force for building a new taste. And following that, my eternal task is to never neglect documentation! Someone once said in a book: “To understand a home with a strong personality that is deeply imbued with one’s way of life, rather than simply following the design movements or interior trends of a specific era, one must first trace that person’s life.” While it is impossible to completely defy the flow of the times, if I can appropriately utilize trends while fully capturing my life and my way of doing things, wouldn't I be able to convey a home of that meaning to someone else as well?
