I have moved countless times, but my goal for this home was to avoid overspending. Perhaps that is why there are almost no new appliances or furniture in our house. Living here, I’ve realized that things cultivated solely to impress others are difficult to keep for long. I once wrote on Instagram that I wanted to create usable shapes to preserve the things I have come into contact with—the air, sunlight, hugs, and conversations. After unloading my belongings in this house and looking out the clear window, I thought how much this place resembles that writing.
