June Home Cooking Log I tend not to take many photos if plating is too much of a hassle due to my laziness, but I still managed to collect quite a few. When cooking, I try to use seasonal and natural ingredients as much as possible. Since I believe protein is essential, I try to use a variety of meats, beans, and seafood. If a trendy recipe has a complicated process, I tend to simplify it a bit before trying it out. 1. Summer Seasonal Pea Shio-konbu Pasta 2. I tried making the Garlic Scape Bibimbap that took social media by storm. For the bibimbap sauce, I kept it simple with just gochujang, red chili powder, soy sauce, and plum extract. 3. Boiled Pork Jowl with Leafy Greens for Wrapping. I got the leafy greens from my mom's friend's garden, and made the ssamjang using soybean paste my mom made and gochujang given by my father-in-law. This is the true union of both families(?) 4. I always crave brunch on weekend mornings. I used the Olive-Filled Ciabatta Slab from Broadcasse bought on Kurly, to make a spread by adding minced garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil to Greek yogurt and Greek yogurt, and it was quite delicious. I usually only eat Tartine slabs, but I tried switching to this one; it has a chewier texture and a softer taste, so I highly recommend it. 5. Japanese-style curry topped with various roasted vegetables. I bought a hand blender just to make this. It takes more effort than regular curry, so I'll probably only make it occasionally on weekends when I have plenty of time. 6. BTS Pasta. It's convenient because you just need to put burrata cheese and basil pesto in it, and simply mix the ingredients well! 7. You can't resist bibim guksu in the summer. 8. My current favorite cake shop @keko.coffee. I asked my husband, who goes to the gym in Gunja-ro, to bring it back for me as takeout.
