I've been putting it off because I've been busy and tired lately, but today I finally mustered up the courage to completely clean up the living room and kitchen! 🧹✨ I usually just do a quick tidy, but lately I haven't been able to clean at all, so the house was a total mess. [It was so bad I can't even bring myself to show you...] Now that I've set aside a whole day to clean, I understand why everyone says "cleaning is the best interior design." The living room looks much more spacious now that the floor is exposed, and in the kitchen, after clearing the countertops, I actually felt like cooking more. Looking at the photos, you might think, "Isn't this house usually this neat?" But before cleaning, household items were piled up everywhere, and the dining table had naturally become a storage area for things. 😂 As expected, a house quickly develops a sense of lived-in wear and tear, and as that wear accumulates, the house seems to start to feel a bit stifling. So, with the mindset of "Let's go back to basics!", I focused on putting things back in their proper places, wiping, and decluttering one by one. Now that I've done that, it doesn't feel like a brand new house, but the air inside feels much lighter. Clean floors. Empty countertops. Organized movement paths. Just keeping these three things in mind seems to instantly bring the atmosphere of the home to life. I came to only one conclusion after this deep cleaning: [Cleaning is interior design.] From now on, before filling the space with more things, I will start by keeping the space I currently have clean. I think I can get started once I throw away just as much as I did today! As for the next deep cleaning...
