#마루시공후기 1. Comparison of Flooring Material Types The flooring occupies the largest area during a remodeling project. Since it is used for a long time once installed, I really agonized over which to choose among vinyl flooring, tile, and hardwood flooring. I will summarize the pros and cons I found. ① Vinyl Flooring The most common reason for choosing this is, of course, the price. It is the cheapest of the three options, and it feels slightly cushioned when walking, making it comfortable for the feet. On the other hand, it was disappointing that leaving heavy furniture on it for a long time leaves marks, and it can tear from sharp objects. ② Tiles Personally, I thought this was the prettiest flooring material. It is great for creating a hotel or cafe-like atmosphere, and it definitely has a luxurious feel. However, material and installation costs tend to be high, and it can feel cold in the winter. Also, while it doesn't get dented like hardwood flooring, I found that there is a higher chance of items like cups or plates breaking if dropped. ③ Hardwood Flooring This is the most commonly used flooring. There are engineered wood flooring, laminate flooring, and solid wood flooring, but it seems that engineered wood flooring is the most popular choice for remodeling. These days, many engineered wood flooring options with wide dimensions similar to tile are available, making them a great option for those who like the look of tile but find maintenance burdensome.
