Since the living room is long and narrow, I wanted to place shelves on one wall to prevent it from looking bare. I had been looking for a camel-colored sofa for a long time, rather than a common one, and I finally found one in the exact tone I had in mind. It is neither too bright nor too dark, so it blends naturally with the other furniture. For the curtains, I chose linen because I wanted the sunlight to filter in softly rather than block it out completely.
