Living in a new building, I felt that having the bottom of the sink exposed wasn't hygienic, and I was disappointed that the base also needed cleaning. So, from a design perspective, I thought finishing it as a single unit would look cleaner. When considering the installation, the cost is high because the surrounding area needs to be finished with ceramic, and the downside is that it is not easy to deal with potential breakdowns.
