After leaving my days as an art entrance exam instructor, where I was obsessed with detail and precision, I tried a completely different approach to my work! Whenever I saw paintings that were rough, simplified, and expressed with a sense of style, I would think, "I want to draw like that," but whenever I actually picked up a brush, I would always end up clinging to minute details. Seeing myself clinging to details again this time, I boldly put down my brush and chose materials that make it difficult to bring out those details. The process of cutting and sewing fabric, stripping away color, and letting go of the obsession I had been holding onto was a meaningful challenge for me. Including my completed cup, cups featuring the distinct tastes of 93 creators will be gathered in Bukchon.
