While I was away for a moment, heavy raindrops began to patter down, instantly engulfing the earth. Rain rushed in through the open window, soaking every piece of paper on my desk. I rushed back to wipe them away, listening to the deafening sound of the rain. It was a sound so fierce it stung, yet why didn't it feel noisy? My turbulent mind had calmed down, so I couldn't bring myself to close the window. Sitting in a chair, I listened to Kim Hyung-suk's piano piece while staring blankly at the snow-white sky. As soon as the music ended, I listened to it over and over again. I wondered how long it had been since I had listened to a single song on repeat... Gradually, the rain subsided, and the sound of raindrops falling one by one could be heard periodically. A reddish hue briefly lingered in the western sky, and the birds, which had been silent, began to chirp again. A night that felt as if my heart had been scrubbed clean and showered.
