In contrast to the living room, which is filled with Mom's personal tastes, I tried to fill Yumaeng's room with vibrant colors befitting a child's world. My hope was that my child could see a variety of colors and unleash their imagination to their heart's content. From the hot air balloon mobile hanging from the ceiling to every single small decorative item, I chose everything from the child's eye level. However, since this is a space for sleeping, I tried to minimize stimulating environments as much as possible. I do not keep battery-operated or noisy toys in the bedroom; instead, I filled it with picture books perfect for reading together before bed and soft dolls. Reading a book before sleep and sharing stories about the day to wrap up the day has become a small routine for our family. A space that suits the child better than Mom's taste.
