Since this is where I spend the most time with my child, I naturally changed the living room piece by piece to match my child's movement patterns. So that I can watch them play wherever they are, and sit right by their side to play whenever they want. I was worried about the awkwardly sized empty space next to the wall-mounted TV, so I recently brought in a shelf and some plants.
