#WhatHappenedDuringRemodeling #MinimalistInterior #ShowingOffMyHomeAppliances Three years ago, while preparing to move into a new home, the appliance I most wanted to replace and own was, by far, the Bespoke Kitchen Fit refrigerator. Since I didn't even have a kimchi refrigerator, I purchased three Bespoke Kitchen Fit single-door units from Samsung: a refrigerator, a freezer, and a variable temperature refrigerator. After carefully comparing the product dimensions with the actual measurements of the refrigerator cabinet, I found that they were a perfect fit, leaving only about 3cm of clearance on the top and sides. I felt relieved, thinking, "I won't have to do any renovations on the refrigerator cabinet!"... However, once the installation was actually completed, it was completely different from what I had expected. Due to the gaps that looked much wider than expected and the awkward empty spaces, that area was a constant headache for me—a person who loves precise angles—for over two years. That space that left me feeling disappointed every time I looked at it... Eventually, I made up my mind and challenged myself to renovate the refrigerator cabinet myself, and finally, I achieved the clean built-in look I had been wanting. Since the refrigerator cabinet space wasn't very generous, it was difficult to build storage cabinets. So, first, I moved the refrigerator as far to one side as possible to secure workspace. Afterward, I had plywood custom-made to fit the cabinet size at a nearby sink workshop, and additionally fabricated door-shaped finishing panels to neatly cover the upper shelves and the leftover space on the side. The upper shelf was manufactured as a single door, and since it is quite heavy and requires fast opening and closing speeds and shock absorption, hydraulic dampers were installed on both sides. Because it was custom-made, we were able to maximize space utilization and achieve a much more polished look, as if it had been installed as a built-in unit from the start. Now that a long-standing issue has been resolved, I feel an extraordinary sense of satisfaction every time I step into the kitchen.
