I moved all the plants from the living room to the small veranda in the master bedroom. Seeing them huddled together made me feel inexplicably full. Over the years of growing plants, the ones I started with just a single small pot have multiplied and multiplied until, before I knew it, I had several of them. Sometimes I give them as gifts to loved ones, and every time I see them gathered in one place like this, I feel a sense of pride. When I see the plants growing so well in proportion to the time I invested, I feel like they are family, accumulating time together with me.
