(｡•́︿•̀｡) Since it is a space used by a baby, I wanted to change the atmosphere to be a bit brighter and cozier, so I decided to do the film work myself. 💙 Film Used The product I used this time is Eco Film CS14 Baby Blue. Because it is a subtle sky blue, the baby room transformed into a much softer and brighter space. The size I purchased is a fixed width of 61cm × 100cm, and I bought a total of 5 rolls. Since I mainly worked on drawers and shelves about 50cm wide in my house, the narrow width fit perfectly. However, if you plan to work on doors or wide walls, I recommend the fixed width product of 122cm × 100cm. I have tried applying adhesive film to doors before, and the wider width was much easier to work with, with fewer seams. (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و 💙 Supplies Basically, I used a 5-piece adhesive film application tool set. Additionally, I prepared: ✔ Hand drill ✔ Putty (purchased from Daiso) ✔ Long iron ruler My shelves had hooks secured with screws, so I removed them first using a hand drill. After removing the hooks, screw marks remain. If I applied the film as is, the marks would be visible, so I filled them in with Daiso putty before starting the work. And I highly recommend the long iron ruler. For adhesive film, a clean cut makes the subsequent work much easier. Having a long stencil really sped up the process and resulted in a much prettier finish. ◟( ˘ ³˘)◞ ♡ 💙 Thoughts on the Work I've applied adhesive film several times since moving in, but this Eco Film definitely had some thickness, so the difficulty level was much lower. With thin film, even a slight slip would cause air bubbles, and it took a long time to push them out by hand. Perhaps because this film has thickness, almost no bubbles formed. It stuck on cleanly after just a few pushes with a squeegee, so I was very satisfied. (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ I felt that this is a film that even first-time DIYers can try without hesitation. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💙 Work Time The total work took about 3 to 4 hours. Of course, since I was working while taking care of the baby, I had to look after the baby in between, grab a coffee fix ☕( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ )♡, and repeat the cycle of taking breaks before getting back to work. That is probably why it took that long. The areas I worked on were: ● 3 shelves ● 3 drawers A total of 6 locations. I worked on the shelves by detaching them, while I installed the drawers exactly as they were attached. It was much easier to remove the parts that could be detached, and even the parts that were difficult to remove were finished more easily than I expected. 🐴 DIY Installation Review Doing DIY interior decorating while raising a child wasn't easy. I had to rush over immediately whenever the baby cried, so I was constantly on edge, saying "Please wait just a little longer~," and the flow of my work kept getting interrupted. ( •̥ ˍ •̥ ) Still, once I actually started, it wasn't as difficult as I thought, and now that it's finished, the atmosphere of the baby's room has completely changed. It has become much cozier and brighter than before, so I feel good every time I enter the room, and my biggest wish was that my baby would like this space too. ♡´･ᴗ･`♡ While spending money to have it professionally done is nice, I realized once again that you can achieve perfectly satisfying results doing it yourself with just a little time investment.
