#리모델링하다생긴일 You've all heard that saying, right? That fixing things up while living in is nearly impossible, so you should fix it up as much as possible before moving in, even if you don't have the money right away... I live alone in a 24-pyeong apartment, and since I have no stuff, two of the rooms are practically empty. So I thought I could fix things up as much as I wanted while living there! It wasn't exactly a mess right now, and it seemed livable enough, so I thought I'd just do it later! But... I never imagined I'd be fixing it up after just a year 🙄 Still, I thought it might be okay if I hired an interior design company, but the previous landlord had recently remodeled the kitchen, installed new laminate flooring, and replaced the partition wall in the entrance! So, when I tried to fix just the windows, wallpaper, bathroom, and veranda, they wouldn't accept a turnkey contract ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ So, I started a semi-DIY interior renovation without any fear!! Bathroom Edition! ✔️ More of a challenge than finding a contractor I joined a famous DIY interior design cafe, leveled up, and searched diligently, but booking with well-known contractors was like trying to catch a star in the sky. Even when I did manage to secure a schedule, coordinating with other contractors in the meantime was incredibly difficult.😭 Please make sure to set a generous timeframe or roughly estimate the start date!! I started looking in April, but I wanted to start construction in May, which was really tough for me. ✔️ Bathroom interiors are the most difficult to renovate, so even if you're doing a semi-DIY project, you absolutely MUST go with a turnkey deal for this part!!!!!! Since bathroom renovations require various processes such as demolition, waste collection, waterproofing, plumbing, tiling, and sanitary ware installation, I found that I had to contact many contractors. Fortunately, however, there were companies that specialized exclusively in bathroom interiors!!!! I highly, highly recommend that even if you are doing a DIY project, you proceed with a turnkey package specifically for the bathroom. I would have cried if I had to find each item one by one. ✔️ Interior design is a series of variables : If you do the interior design yourself, no one will protect the surfaces for you, so you have to do the protection yourself (of course, the elevator too...). You also have to get consent from your neighbors yourself. Of course, there are agencies, but since we are doing it ourselves to save every penny, let's try to handle at least this much ourselves! Protecting the floors and furniture took more time than I expected, and even though I don't have much stuff, it was really hard trying to stack everything neatly on the veranda. It was common for items like sanitary ware (sinks) and faucets that I had picked out the day before construction to suddenly become unavailable. ㅠㅠㅠ I think you should prepare at least two plans, A and B, when selecting products to install so you don't get flustered. Since I considered about two options for everything, I was able to respond immediately, but if I had only chosen one, I think I would have been really flustered and had a hard time. ✔️ Since it is your own home, be sure to check everything during surprise inspections! : Although it was only a partial renovation, there was a lot of dust flying around, so I stayed at my parents' house and visited occasionally to check on the progress. However, as you can see in the photos, there were cracks where the waterproofing wasn't done properly or where they were told to waterproof without doing the basic work. I don't think I would have known if I hadn't made time to go and check it out myself. After all these various variables and twists and turns, our bathroom has been reborn!!!! The process took much longer than I expected, and there were many physically demanding parts, so I remember shedding tears of joy, sorrow, anger, and happiness when I saw the bathroom on the day the renovation was finished😭〰️ Next, I'll be back with the window frames and wallpapering, which were relatively easier! #CornSoupRecords #인테리어 #화장실인테리어 #인테리어생존기
