Securing Porcelain Tiles That Don't Show Color Difference Is Essential : If you can prepare extra stock during the initial construction, secure a spare supply from the start. You might think, "Can't I just buy that part number later?", but due to the nature of tiles, there are subtle tonal differences even if you buy the exact same part number. I don't know if this is unique to porcelain tiles or if other types of tiles are like that too, but I've heard that the tone varies slightly depending on when the work is done. They all look the same individually, but once you bring them home and place them, the tones are ambiguously different... We opened and placed all four boxes to barely secure a similar color 🥹 2. Requesting a Skilled Worker Is Essential : This was the part where I really suffered the most emotional distress. I just assumed that if I left it to them, it would surely turn out well. Two people came to work on it, and one side was perfect. But on the other side, they broke the adjacent tiles and wall, and the finish wasn't neat at all... In the end, the skilled worker had to tear everything down and redo it. I even had to redo the wall that the other worker had broken... It really was three times the amount of work... You absolutely must tell them to send the right person. 🥹 3. Great Tips for Finding Tile Cracks Before, when I didn't know anything, I used to crawl around on the floor looking for cracks. These days, there are a lot of vacuum cleaners with built-in lights, right? Like Dyson or Samsung, etc. If you run a vacuum cleaner with a light in a dark house, the cracks will become visible automatically. You can spot things that are invisible to the naked eye right under the light. It's killing two birds with one stone—cleaning the house and finding cracks at the same time! If you don't have a vacuum cleaner with a light, when it's dark, turn on your phone's flashlight to shine it on the floor, and you should be able to see clearly. If you discover these issues after moving in, it will be dusty and difficult to handle during repairs, so make sure to identify everything in advance and get it repaired.
